What I Do When I’m Not Writing – If You’re Curious to Know

So, obviously I spend every minute of my day writing and editing and revising  . . .

Fine, I lied . . . . But you know what? I’m glad I don’t spend every waking and non-waking moment writing and the like because there are so many other things I love to do with my time, procrastination being one of them, and it’s always nice to take a break from writing.

So what do I do with all the free and non-free time I have?

Well, when I am not on break, I attend my town’s local community college as a full-time student. And if you ask me what I’m majoring in then I will tell you I am currently on the path of animation or game development. Currently.

Either before or after school, I work two part-time jobs – do not ask me how I am able to fit two jobs into my schedule, I still don’t believe it. I work as an office Assistant and a Computer Lab Assistant.

At home, there are many things I do to keep myself occupied and away from boredom. I will not be counting how much time  I spend on social media and all the shows and movies I watch:)

One of them is being a gamer. PC FOR LIFE!!!! Though I have played console, but I prefer PC. But I’m not an addict . . . mostly. If the story in the game is so good I can’t pull away, then I will continue to play. I’m a diehard fan of RPG’s and if you have no idea what that is, it stands for Role Playing Games, which are basically games where you play as a character and as that character you make decisions that affect you and the ending of the story line. Many of my favorites include the following:

Yeah . . . I know. They’re all Bioware games, but they are some of my all-time favorites with such great stories, characters, and banter! I also love Skyrim, the Assassin’s Creed series, Tomb Raider, Ori and the Blind Forest, and many, many others!

Moving on . . . or I won’t be able to stop . . .

Of course I need to talk about reading! It’s why I write! Currently, I’m reading King’s Cage by Victoria Aveyard. I always bring a book with me wherever I go. Though currently my reading time is somewhat short and it’s taking me a while to get through this book. I need to set an hour aside every night or something to get me reading. Anyway, I thought I might share with you my bookshelves which hold my gems. Half of them I have read, the rest are on my TBR list . . . and I keep buying more . . . .

Then, if I don’t want to read or write or play a game, and I have an entire afternoon free, I’ll sometimes draw or paint.

Now, by this point I’m sure you’re thinking, “What about your social life? Don’t you hang out with your friends?” Ah . . . well . . . If it isn’t obvious by now . . . well, I’m a bit of an introvert. Don’t get me wrong, I love to hang out with my friends . . . maybe once a month, but by the end of the day, after being at work and school, I just want to be alone in my world for a few hours until the next day comes. Though close friends are exceptions – I’ll hang out or see them everyday or whenever.

So, those are pretty much the top five things – excluding social media and shows/movies – that I do when I’m not writing:)

What do you do when you’re not writing? Or just in your free-time?

Also, the first character interview will be posted this Thursday!

    1. Aw thanks! And it just takes practice:) NO SPOILERS! It’s going a bit slow, but I do like it. I haven’t gotten to the part of the book where I can’t tear my eyes from it. I’m somewhere in chapter four. It’s been so long since I read Glass Sword. I probably should’ve reread the other two before starting this one:P

  1. Oh, I love your bookshelves!! 😀 I love to handletter, actually, in my free time. It’s an odd hobby but I love it. I also enjoy drawing too, but I’m nowhere near as good as you. 😉
